It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It's been great to have Davin home for the weekend (even though it always seems like such a short time). The word on the street for a "home for good" date is now the end of January. sigh
We did luck out today though... Davin's flight tonight was canceled, so he is actually here for more than 48 hours!
Happy Bud
When I went in to the Bud's room this morning, instead of saying the usual "wake up" he said "dada" in a big whine - as in "what are you doing here, I know that Dad is home."

This is the last time we have together before Christmas weekend, so we went to get a tree.
Our tree
We decided to put it up outside on our new (but not quite finished) deck.
Trimmin' the Tree
Because of the "L" shape of our house by the deck, we can enjoy the tree from the den, where we hang out much of the time, and the living room, where we will be entertaining for Christmas.
Shovel
The Bud helped with the shoveling while we worked on the lights.

Tonight we enjoyed the view.
Tree Outside

On a wacky Bud note...
There has been a slight obsession with a small pack of swim diapers that the Bud found in a closet. Here he is wearing them on his arms. I think he was pretending they were wings for awhile.
Odd toys
We even caved and allowed one to come with us in the car to the store on Saturday.
We did, however, leave the favorite red, spatula handle at home.
Who needs real toys?

Laura, we love your tree! It is so beautiful to look out at from our windows. What an awesome idea to put it outside where it will not be a fire hazard, where you won't have to worry about the needle mess, and where little hands won't be able to get at the ornaments!

What is needed now is a light snow just before Christmas to frost the tree. The lights and the snow would be just right.
