Losing Sleep Over Sleep

Do you ever stop the paranoid checking on your kid while they are sleeping? As Radley has become more mobile and able to put himself to sleep, he has come up with a new favorite sleeping position. We call it the face plant. He moves to his stomach, plants his face into the mattress and puts his fists into his eye sockets. It goes against everything that we think should be comfortable. But if we move him, he just goes right back. I tried to take a picture of his crazy position, but it was hard to tell what I was taking a picture of in the dark.

Eine Kleine Nachmittag Musik

What a gorgeous day! It feels like summer is already here. Davin only has one more month of staying at home. If we could afford it, he would love to stay home a lot longer. After that we are both working for 3 weeks (the grandparents are helping us out during that time!) until my summer vacation starts.

This afternoon I played in the spring concert for the
Roseville String Ensemble. I love having a easy going group to play in - we are definitely an amateur group, but there has to be a place for us amateurs!

Saturday Night

We got to go out for a "game night" with friends like regular people last night, because Mom and Dad graciously babysat for their grandson. The only problem with staying up late, is that Radley never sleeps in.

Davin's Chart Art

Since the start of his time home, Davin has been "charting". Soon to be the craze with obsessive parents everywhere. I won't give you all the details, but orange is asleep and yellow is awake.

Six Months Old

Some of you know that we take pictures with striped kitty every so often to document the growth of our darling boy. Here are our favorites from the 6th month photo session. You may notice that the Rad Man is sitting up in one photo... he is getting better every day. He is still wobbly, but today he sat on his own for about 10 minutes.

Food, Glorious Food!

It has been about two weeks now that Radley has been experiencing solid food. He was a natural right away. I am sure that it has no relation to our parenting skills - and there is no guarantee that this is permanent, but he is a very neat and purposeful eater. He already eats like a pro and has a sort of "open bird beak" action when you are feeding him. He started off on some rice cereal, then on Monday we started carrots. We just gave him some mashed bananas for the first time today... suddenly he is super jazzed, and Davin had a brainstorm: we just gave him sugar for the first time - well... Fructose anyway.

If this is a sugar-high... I wonder what the crash will look like. Hmmmmm.

How will photos work on this blog...

I am testing out how photos will work on this blog. From the computer I am on right now, I only have access to a few pictures from a baby shower given by my coworkers the Monday before Radley was born.
It looks like it won't be too bad. You should be able to click on the photo to see it full size as well. Or you could save it to your own computer (by right-clicking on the full sized photo - or some variation of that) and do what you will - please note that I hate it when people photoshop mustaches, nose rings and labotomy scars on me. Grrrr.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Works of Art: Modern Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Works of Art: Modern Art
Charles Demuth's Figure Five in Gold with zoomerific fun-ness

People often ask "what's up with the 5s?" - Well... if you know, you know (and think of yourself as the privileged few *wink*). If you don't... the short answer is that we collect things with 5s on them - and you will just have to be satisfied with that.

Startin' a Blog

So we have been frustrated with having to have friends and family log into snapfish to see our photos. We are hoping that with a blog we will be able to keep in touch a little bit better. Let us know what you think.
